Close all liquor shops to help increase immunity: GMOA

23 October 2020 04:12 am

The Government Medical Officers' Association (GMOA) today requested the government to close all liquor shops and outlets to help increase the immunity of the people.

The GMOA said due to the widespread of the COVID-19 virus in the country, it was essential to go for the immediate closure of all liquor shops.

They also requested the Government to promote the use of toxin-free traditional foods among the people and urge them to drink water regularly, to abstain from using liquor and prevent smoking.

“People should also stick to home-cooked foods, engage in garden farming and in exercises to increase the immunity,” the GMOA said.

However, it said the Epidemiology Unit is still not sharing data related to the spread of the virus.

“Therefore, if anything worse happens in the society, the Epidemiology Unit should take the responsibility,” the GMOA said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
