While informing the Secretary Justice that the extradition request of Arjun Mahendran is still pending, Attorney General Dappula de Livera said a clarification note was provided to the Singapore Attorney General today over the extradition matter.
Coordination Officer of the Attorney General State Counsel Nishara Jayarante said the clarification note was sent following the discussions held with the Singapore Attorney General with regard to the extradition of Mahendran.
She said the Singapore Government was still considering the extradition request.
Arjuna Mahendran has been wanted to Sri Lanka in connection with the Central Bank bond scam.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs forwarded the extradition request on Arjuna Mahendran, to the Sri Lankan High Commission in Singapore last year in September. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
