Senior State Counsel Udara Karunathilaka today informed Colombo Chief Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake that a case had been filed in Dubai against former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga, in order to bring him back to Sri Lanka.
Weeratunga is alleged to have engaged in irregularities that occurred when purchasing MIG aircraft for the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Senior State Counsel informed this while submitting a comprehensive report on the progress of investigations carried out to bring Mr. Weeratunga back to Sri Lanka. (Manopriya Gunasekara)
