Measures have been taken to suspend fuel supply to four filling stations with effect from today after having found they acted in contrary to the instructions and regulations laid down by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).

Issuing a notice, the CPC said it has been revealed that the filling stations had acted contrary to the instructions and rules of the corporation.

Accordingly, the filling stations at Makola South in Makola, Naula, Pethiyagoda in Kelaniya, and Mirigama have been suspended fuel supply.

Several teams have been assigned to inspect the filling station operations to ascertain whether they are operating in accordance with the CPC guidelines.

Complaints have been received for not issuing fuel, run out of stocks despite having them with the aim of gaining more profit by selling at higher prices.

However, the CPC has decided not to issue fuel to cans and barrels from tomorrow to May 14. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
