Highlighting that the government continues to suffer losses to the tune of Rs.16 billion annually, the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) today requested CID to expedite the investigation on the loss of Rs.16 billion as tax revenue as a result of sugar scam.
Chairman of COPA Kabir Hashim said the CID has already begun a probe on the scam and the other had already asked CID to expedite the probe.
MP Hashim said COPA has carried out a special probe on the scam.
