The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested a son of businessman from Bambalapitiya in connection with the garlic scam that took place at Lanka Sathosa.
Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said the 25-year-old suspect, a resident of Bambalapitiya was arrested yesterday.
He is the son of the businessman who fraudulently purchased garlic from Lanka Sathosa, the police spokesman said.
The spokesman said the suspect would be charged in courts for making fraudulent documents and aiding and abetting to the fraud.
