Bank robbers can’t be rated noble - Sajith

Those who rob banks cannot be brahamins (a noble person) and what they say should be assessed on the basis of his/her deeds, Minister of Housing Sajith Premadasa said recently.

Mr. Premadasa said this at the opening of Gotiaimbaragama in Lunugamvehehera on Tuesday.

“We hear some people coming up with various statements. People expect us to respond to them. Buddha preached that a person become a good or bad because of his/her deeds and not because of his/her family background. Those who rob banks cannot be a brahamin (noble man) but such a person would be a Wasalaya (unjust man),” Minister Premadasa said.

“There is disaster whereever this kind of people go to. People wanted light but they have ended up in darkness because of those unjust individuals. They sue their wives to get bribes,” he added. (Yohan Perera)
