Following the fuel price revision by the Finance Ministry last Friday, the Lanka Indian Oil Company (LIOC) also revised its fuel prices with effect from midnight today.

LIOC Senior Vice President (Finance) Mr. Pramod Jain said according to the current revision, the price of Lanka Auto Diesel (LAD) was reduced by Rs.9 per litre.

Jain said a litre of Lanka Petrol 92 Octane (LP92) had been increased by Rs.5 to Rs.140.

A litre of Xtra MILE diesel would be sold at Rs.108 while a litre of Lanka Super Diesel (Euro 4) would be sold at Rs.136. A litre of Xtra Premium EURO 3 petrol would be sold at RS.146.

A litre of Xtra Premium 95 (Euro 4) petrol would be sold at Rs.167.

However, the price of Lanka Kerosene would remain as Rs.70 per litre, he said.

He said the prices of petrol and diesel have gone up significantly in the international market in the recent months and the LIOC is incurring huge losses in marketing of auto fuels as a result. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
