Athula Senanayake, the husband of Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake, passed away following a sudden illness at the age of 64 today, sources said.
Mr. Senanayake had been admitted to a private hospital in Colombo yesterday and had passed away this afternoon.
He was the son of former IGP Stanley Senanayake and a father of three.
Sources said the remains of Mr. Senanayake would be brought to the Mayor’s Residence tomorrow.
