The Negombo Magistrate’s Court yesterday issued arrest warrants on interdicted Negombo Prison Superintendent Anuruddha Sampayo and three prison officials on several Penal Code charges.
The Attorney General had directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Director to obtain warrants to arrest the suspects.
According to AG’s Coordinating Officer State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne, the three prison officers are Chief Jailors Sarath Bandara, Nilantha Senarathna and Kalinga Kaluaggala.
