All universities will be closed for two weeks from tomorrow due to the COVID-19 outbreak, University Grants Commission Chairman Sampath Amaratunge said today.
The decision was taken considering the safety of students following concerns of the coronavirus of COVID-19 at a special meeting held at the University Grants Commission today.
Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has decided to grant two weeks leave to all National Colleges of Education and Teachers College from Monday March 16 to March 29.
Accordingly, the academic activities of these institutions will commence on March 30. (Sheain Fernandopulle)
