Airport public viewing area open for public

Public Viewing Area at the Bandaranaike International Airport was declared opened yesterday by the Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Limited Chairman Maj. Gen. (Rtd.) G.A. Chandrasiri.

He told media that this Public viewing area was opened following a request made to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa by a little girl during President's visit to the airport, a few months back.

"After visiting this viewing area, anyone including schools children can get the knowledge of how the CAASL conducting their operations, about aircraft, how the airport had functioned during the COVID-19 pandemic, what measures need to be taken to identify receiving patients with COVID-19 infections and so on. School children who visit the area clad in school uniforms will be imparted with the knowledge free of charge and elders need to pay Rs.50 as entrance free. The fee is used to maintain the area and public facilities," the Chairman said. (T.K.G. Kapila)
