Attorney General Dappula De Livera has filed indictment in the Kegalle High Court under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) against several individuals including Naufer Moulawi.
AG'S Coordinating Officer- State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said the AG had also requested the Chief Justice for a trial- at- bar to try Naufer Moulawi , Ibrahim Moulawi , Mohammed Sajid , Mohammed Sahid , Sadik Abdullah ,Sainul Abdeen , Mohammed Milhan and nine others.
Cases will be filed against them for conspiracy to cause violence and thereby incite religious ill feeling and disharmony amongst communities by the destruction of five Buddha statues and another in the Mawanella area in December 2018.
