ACMOA complaints against SAITM CEO

The All Ceylon Medical Officers’ Association (ACMOA) today lodged a complaint with the  IGP against SAITM's Chief Executive Officer Dr. Sameera Senaratne stating that he practiced as a doctor without the approval of the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC).

In the compliant, General Secretary of the Association Dr. Jayantha Bandara alleged that the CEO of the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) had not registered with the SLMC in keeping with clause 38 of the medical act.

“It is illegal to work as a doctor without being registered at the medical council,” he stated.

The ACMOA requested the IGP to conduct fair investigation into the matter.

The association had lodge the complaint at the police headquarters and copies of the complaint were sent to Secretary of the Health Ministry and the Medical Council.(Darshana Sanjeewa)
