Nearly 90% of buses will be on the roads to facilitate schoolchildren from tomorrow, Lanka Private Bus Owners' Association (LPBOA) said.

While speaking to the Daily Mirror, he said the country is now getting back to normal and the government had decided to function schools and government institutions in all five-days in a week.

Bus services are gradually coming back to normal, however, the services are not normalized in several rural areas such as in the Eastern and Northern provinces.

"I requested the Transport Minister and the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) to provide diesel to restore the transport services in rural areas," he said.

The ministry should bear responsibility for not normalizing the bus services in some areas, albeit the country is crawling back to normalcy, Wijerathne added. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
