5 suspects remanded for impersonation at exam

Five suspects who attempted to impersonate candidates sitting for the recently concluded Korean Language examination were remanded till October 24.

They were remanded by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Rashmi Singappuli for allegedly sitting the examination on behalf of others.

The impersonation attempt allegedly took place at the D. S. Senanayake College and Thurstan College examination centres on October 16.

They were apprehended by invigilators on duty at the two examination centres with the passports of the persons whom they attempted to impersonate. The suspects were produced in court by the Cinnamon Garden Police who were investigating the matter and wanted to record the statements from owners of the passports to remand them. (T.
