Thirty-five police officers including the Director of the Crimes Division and three senior DIGs have been transferred, police said.
They said a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), eight SSPs, four SPs including a woman Superintendent of Police, eight ASPs, 10 Chief Inspectors and an Inspector were also among those transferred.
Accordingly, SSP TGNWD Thalduwa has been transferred from the post of Director of the Crimes Division to the post of Director of the Police Media Division.
Senior DIGs, M Munasinghe, WFU Fernando and LMAR Silva have been appointed as Acting SDIG in charge of North West, Eastern and Uva provinces respectively in addition to their current positions.
DIG AGJ Chandrakumara in charge of the information Technology Division has been transferred as the DIG in charge of Colombo Division.
SSP KDGLA Dharmasena, who was the Director of the Information Technology Division, has been transferred as the Director of the Computer Crime Investigation Division of the CID.
SSP MAIADSP Erasinghe has been transferred from Panadura Division to the Police Field Force Headquarters.
Woman SP HMLR Amarasena has been transferred to Police Headquarters from the Kelaniya Division.
SP WMS Wedage has been transferred from Mt. Lavinia to the Panadura Division.
SSP AM Weerakkody has been transferred from the Panadura Division as the Director of the Kalutara Crimes Division.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)
The transfers had been approved by the Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security.
