300 families affected by inclement weather: DMC

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) said today 1267 people from 300 families have been affected by the prevailing inclement weather.

DMC Media Spokesman Sarath Lal Kumara said 35 houses have been partially damaged in Trincomalee District due to a storm and  people have been affected by the over flowing of Gin River in Galle.

Meanwhile, Meteorology Department said showers could be expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Thundershowers would develop at several places elsewhere during the afternoon or evening, it said.(Ajith Siriwardana)
