The Matara Magistrate today remanded 19 students of the Ruhunu University till August 19 when they were produced in Court on charges of threatening the Dean of the Science Faculty, police said.
They had threatened the Dean after an unannounced raid was carried out on receiving information that some freshers at the Eliyakanda hostel were to be ragged.
The Science Faculty has been closed since July 31 until further notice.
