A total of 93 prisoners including 16 convicted LTTE cadres have been pardoned by the President on the occasion of the Poson Poya which falls today (24).
Prisons Spokesman Chandana Ekanayake said the LTTE suspects have been detained at Anuradhapura and Jaffna Prisons.
In addition, 77 other inmates who have been jailed for minor offences were released.(DSB)
