A 14-year-old boy has been shot dead at Gajanayakagama in Weeraketiya, Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said.
The boy was admitted to the Weeraketiya Hospital with serious injuries after being shot at during a family dispute last night.
He was later admitted to the Tangalle Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The have Police arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.
However, the man who shot the boy fled the area and investigations are underway to arrest him, the spokesman said.
