10 schools to be elevated as national schools tomorrow

In view of increasing the number of national schools in the country to 495, another ten schools are to be announced as national schools tomorrow under the 'Thousand National Schools' programme, the Education Ministry said.

They said the ten schools will be announced as national schools on the occasion of International Women's Day tomorrow under President Gotabaya Rajapaksa's 'Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour" theme.

The occasion will take place tomorrow at Temple Trees through Zoom Technology with the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and the Education Minister.

Accordingly, Puwakdandawa Dhammapala Balika Vidyalaya, Beliatta - Yashodara Balika Vidyalaya, Bibile - Devi Balika Maha Vidyalaya, Dompe - Mahmud Ladies School, Kalmunai - Vidyartha School, Kekirawa - Swarna Jayanthi Maha Vidyalaya, Kegalla - St. Gabriels Balika Vidyalaya, Hatton - Methodist Girls' High School, Point Pedro - Buddhist Girls' School - Dankotuwa  and Walahanduwa President's Girls' School will be announced as national schools tomorrow.
