A 24-year old police officer has died and more than 210 persons have been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital due to clashes that took place yesterday.
Hospital sources said the police officer was admitted to the hospital with wounds suspected to have been sustained due to an explosion of a tear gas grenade near Temple Trees.
Meanwhile, another man who was at the GotaGoGama protest site in Galle Face Green had also died on admission to the National Hospital due to a heart condition.(Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya )
