The National Chamber of Exporters of Sri Lanka (NCE) will participate in the Hotel Asia exhibition, which will be held in Male, in the Maldives from September 19 to 21, 2015. This is the fifth successive time that the NCE participates in this Hotel Asia event.
The Hotel Asia Exhibition & Culinary Challenge is the biggest ever gathering of the hospitality industry professionals in the Maldives and attracts all levels of decision-makers from the industry. As in the previous years, Hotel Asia 2015 will once again consist of exhibitors from Sri Lanka, India, the Maldives and Pakistan.
Visitors from the food processing industries, catering and hospitality industries, restaurant owners, bakers, design firms, catering, specialty food services establishments and persons related to the industry have been invited by the organisers to source their requirements from participants at the exhibition. Chefs and personnel from the purchasing departments of almost all the Maldivian resorts are expected to visit the event.
Eight companies will exhibit their products in the NCE pavilion. They are, International Foodstuff Company Agri Bio-Tech (Pvt.) Ltd, Raux Brothers (Pvt.) Ltd, Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC, D Samson Industries (Pvt.) Ltd, Fanam International (Pvt.) Ltd, Kandygs Handlooms Exports (Pvt.) Ltd, Felicitas Trading (Pvt.) Ltd and Celcius Solutions (Pvt.) Ltd.
The event will also host The Culinary Challenge, which is one of the highly anticipated facets of Hotel Asia. Chefs and service personnel from the best of Maldivian resorts and from other participating nations will vie for top honours at the competition. The Culinary Challenge itself adds a unique and diverse facet to the event, harnessing the best of talent in the region in one common platform.
The awards and certificates given to the winners of the Culinary Challenge are sponsored by International Foodstuff Company Agri Bio-Tech (Pvt.) Ltd and Nidro Supply (Pvt.) Ltd, both of whom are NCE member companies. The awards and certificates that are given in recognition of the skills and quality of the chefs are regarded as world-class international endorsements.
The NCE will provide a complete package to its delegates including stall reservations, reservation of hotel and air tickets and facilitate sample shipments. The NCE will also arrange meetings for participants with buyers in some of the Maldivian resorts, based on the profiles of the delegates.
The main objective of the NCE is to promote the products and services of member companies of the chamber as well as non-members at various international trade shows, to support the effort of the Sri Lankan government to accelerate exports to achieve national export targets.
