The curfew imposed in the districts of Colombo, Gampaha, Kalutara,  Puttalam, Kandy and Jaffna which have been identified as High Risk Zones will continue until further notice, while in all other districts, curfew has been extended till 6.00am on Thursday, the 16th April, President’s Media Division said.
It also said that the Curfew in these areas will be lifted at 6.00 am on Thursday, the 16th April and will be re-imposed at 4.00 pm on the same day. The previous announcement which stated that curfew in these districts will be relaxed at 6.00am on Tuesday, the 14th   April and re-imposed at 4.00pm on the same day has now been changed.
The sole purpose of these measures including imposing curfew is to ensure the well-being of the people of this country in this critical situation. Hence, the Government requests the public to bear the inconveniences caused as a result of ongoing curfew in a responsible manner.
Also, the Government emphasizes to purchase only the essential items and to avoid unnecessary travelling. The Government further requests to limit the traditions and associations during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year only to the members of the family.
During curfew hours, the government has put in place a mechanism to continuously supply essential food and other goods enabling the public to purchase them while at  homes.
Those who are engaged in paddy farming and cultivation of small tea holdings  and export crops in any district are permitted to carry out their activities.
Traveling to and from all districts has been completely prohibited except for the purpose of providing essential services.
Those who misuse regulations introduced with the prime objective of ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of essential services will severely be dealt with according to the law.
The villages which have been declared isolated areas in any district will remain in the same category.  No one will be allowed to enter or leave from these areas until further notice.

"crops in any district are permitted to carry out their activities" how? There is no clear mechanism to get a curfew pass for farmers. I have exhaustipated calling or writing to authorities.

Wow! I learnt the meaning of a new word. Exhaustipated is a portmanteau — a word composed of parts of other words — that derives from exhausted and constipated. The meaning is “too tired to give a crap.”

Only announcements about Curfew. No assistance for the General publick. Grma Sevaka's not functioning. Municipals are not functioning. Divisional Secretariats not functioning. But they all have passes and moving free. We people are staying in homes and waiting for small vendors.

I ask this so called President’s Media Division as to how long you are going to coup us inside our houses. No one seems to listen to our cries. We do not get proper supplies coming our way. We have run out of cash, cannot get to a bank. Are you trying to kill us of starvation. Please give us a break. This a citizen fro Ja-Ela.

No use. Corona is a blessing for the privileged.

YOU CAN LIFT CURFEW ONE DISTRICT AT A TIME IN THE HIGH RISK ZONE. THAT WILL HELP PEOPLE TO REPLENISH THEIR GROCERY STOCK AND DO THE NEEDFUL. OR ELSE THERE SHOULD BE A SYSTEMATIC MOBILE SERIVICE FOR BANKING, SHOPPING AND MEDICINE.....THE REQUIREMENT FOR PRESCRIPTION TO ORDER MEDICINE IS ABSURD SINCE DIABETIC PATIENTS AND PRESSURE PATIENTS WILL HAVE TO CONTINUE TAKING MEDICINE ON A REGULAR BASIS. AND THEY DO IT WITHOUT NEW PRESCRIPTION ....AUTHORITIES SHOULD OPEN THEIR BRAIN.
