Several controversial audio clips of former state minister and film actor Ranjan Ramanyake communicating with various persons are now going viral on social media platforms.

The voice clips include phone conversations Ramanayake has had with a female Judge, who is now retired, top CID officers, politicians sand various females.

The conversations with the female judge had revolved around her promotion.

Government Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said the Acting IGP had informed him that investigations were being carried out into the controversial audio clips that were found in the actor’s Madiwela residence on Sunday.

Minister Rambukwella said contents of some calls with politicians carried threatening tones, especially with regard to Duminda Silva.

Some calls had exposed the government’s approach towards court cases, said Mr. Rambukwella insisting that judicial authorities should take action over this illegal trend.

A police team that raided the residence of Ramanyake on Sunday seized an unlicensed firearm, live ammunition, 162 CDs and DVDs. He was later granted bail by the Nugegoda Additional Magistrate.(Sujith Hewajulige)

So ranjan had these audio clips at his own home, hoping one day to tarnish his own image?

Only because he forgot to extent his license. I think the licenses of half of all gun carrying politicians are expired. In all developed countries you will be remembered by a letter from the government, that a license (car, gun or others) will expire soon. But to confiscate letters, CDs and DVDs are illegal and has been revenge by our Great Dictator.

What about the contents of the DVDs? It is a blatant abuse of power and interfering with the justice system. Will Switzerland allow one of their MPs to talk to their equivalent CID like Ranjan did? This will throw out any court cases against accused if used by the defence lawyer?

Luckily this is a system change hero. Any one else would lang is jail for influencing judges like this.

Oh! Sokrates, your knowledge seems to be poor!
