IGP Pujith Jayasundara, who was sent on compulsory leave, was arrested by the CID today for allegedly threatening and intimidating a lift operator at the police headquarters in 2017.
Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said Mr. Jayasundara was arrested after he was summoned to the CID to give a statement over the incident.
He is to be produced in the Fort Magistrate’s Court today.(DSB)
