The All Share Price Index gained 63.3 points to close at 6,621.5 points (+1.0%), whilst the Milanka Price Index also gained 41.5 points to close at 7,026.6 points (+0.6%).
The total turnover was LKR1,109.4 mn (USD9,973.0 k) vs. 12-month average daily turnover of LKR2,388.4 mn (USD21,470.7 k) whilst the volume traded for the day was 44,440 k against the 12-month average daily volume of 74,350 k.
Top traded counters were
Market continued to ascend on its lively ways, with both indices closing in the green. Renuka Holdings witnessed renewed institutional interest whilst strong investor interest was seen in Richard Pieris. Heavy weight John Keells Holdings and Kotagala Plantations saw institutional and high net worth interest during the day. Further Hatton National Bank (Non Voting) enticed institutional interest.
Net outflow of foreign funds was seen during the day, where foreign purchases amounted to LKR59.4 mn (USD534.0 k), whilst foreign sales amounted to LKR78.1 mn (USD702.1 k).
Market capitalization is at LKR2,205.5 bn. YTD market performance is up 95.6%.
