The the “Tourmaline Lanka” magazine, a publication that focuses solely on fascinating world of gem and jewelery was launched recently.“It is our aim to publish the Tourmaline Lanka magazine i n both English and Chinese, and furthermore Spanish, Japanese, Russian and French in order to market the Sri Lankan gem industry to the international arena by promoting and selling it at all the main International Gem & Jewelry Exhibitions.

 

We have already launched our first ever, international standard Gem Magazine in English at FACET Exhibition was held at BMICH on 4th September 2014 and we have planned Chinese version of t his magazine to be launched at Shanghai, China on 6th November 2014, Chief Editor- Kasun G. Madivila said. Tourmaline Lanka is also an informative

 


first edition of magazine whose main focus is to enlighten gem buyers throughout the world about the uniqueness and value of gemstones and the gem industry in Sri Lanka. Tourmaline Lanka is the brainchild of. Kasun G. Madivila and Indika Vithanage.Madivila is a graduate gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America ( GIA) and a National Tourist Guide Lecturer. He is a former Valuer Gemologist at the National Gem and Jewellery Authority and has extensive gem-related experience in Japan. And consultant gemologist in Shan Fairtrade gems Pvt Ltd- Sri Lanka. . Vithanage is the President of the Sri Lanka Institute of National Tourist Guide Lecturers and accredited gemologist.
