Isipathana College pulled off a fine 27 points (four tries, two conversions and one penalty) to 15 points (three tries) win over Trinity College in their Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament encounter worked off at Pallekele yesterday.
At half time the winners
led 17-5.
Isipathana drew first blood in the ninth minute when winger R. H. De Silva touched down but Manilka Ruberu missed the conversion.
Isipathana were in Trinity territory for more than 15 minutes of the game and Amith Kulatunge was lucky to get away with a yellow-card after tackling an Isipathana player in the air.
Isipathana scored again through a sweeping three quarter move with full back A. Goonasekera touching down. Ruberu added the extras.
M. Ratnayake scored a gifted try through an interception.
Trinity winger Geeshapa Kulatunge was lightning fast to score Trinity’s first try.
After the turnaround, tries were scored by Ratnayake and a penalty by Ruberu while Trinity scored their two second half tries through Rashen Bandaranayake and Kulatunge.

Isipathana won the Under-16 encounter 14-7 and also the second XV game 17-14.
