Trinity College will play Royal College in their Annual Hockey encounter at the Asgiriya International Stadium tomorrow (9).
Under-16 encounter will commence at 2 p.m. followed by the Old Boys match and the Under-20 encounter played last. Last encounter was played in 2019 and the following two years was not played due to Covid pandemic.
The Under-20 encounter will be played for JCA Corera (former Royal Principal) while the Old Boys encounter is played for Late Bertie Dias (former Trinity double International Hockey and Rugby, Trinity Rugby coach) trophies.
Trinity Under-20 will be led by Kasthuri Jayalath while the Royal team is led by Thisuka Perera. In the Under-16 event Trinitians Trehan Sinnen will lead the side while Royal take the field under Yusuf Shihar.
The Old Boys encounter which is a much looked forward one will see Anton Rajendra leading the Old Trinitians outfit while Janath Wijerathna will lead Old Royalists.
Chief Guest will be Trinity College Principal, Father Araliya Jayasundera while Roshan Rajaduari will be the Guest of Honor. The 1982 Trinity hockey outfit who became All Island champions had three Lions, Roshan Rajadurai, Ghazali Wadood and Deva Ellepola (President of Trinity Hockey Foundation). This outfit was coached by Paul Jeyaraj.
Guest of Honor Roshan Rajadurai was also a top class cricketer and a Rugby player for Trinity at Under-19 level.
