Sri Lanka’s Thehan Wijemanne cruised into the quarter-finals of the ITF Junior Circuit Week-4 Tennis Tournament with a convincing straight set win over fourth seed Leroy Yong of Malaysia in their second-round match played at the SLTA Courts in Green Path, Colombo today (20).
In fact, it was sweet revenge for Thehan as he had earlier lost to Leroy in the ITF Junior Circuit Week-3 Tournament last week.
However, Sri Lanka’s Chathurya Nilaweera, Dhilvin Herath, Neyara Weerawansa and Oshini Herath lost their respective matches and bowed out of contention.

Vidisha Pallamreddy (India) beat Shreya Chakraborty (India) 2-4, 5-4 (3), 4-2. Yi Chin Wu (Chinese Taipei) beat Neyara Weerawansa (Sri Lanka) 5-4 (5), 4-1. Chioe Chong Jing (Malaysia) beat Yang Ping An Li (China) 4-0, 5-3. Hsing Ju Sing (Chinese Taipei) beat Oshini Herath (Sri Lanka) 4-0, 4-2. Ya Chi Hsu (Chinese Taipei) beat Ameek Batth (India) 5-4 (5), 6-4 (5). Carmencita Isabela Carlos (Philippines) beat Hetvee Chaudhari (India) 4-1, rtd. Yuyun Chen (Chinese Taipei) beat Chandika Joshi (India) 4-0, 5-3. Jesse Wirahadipoernomo (Indonesia) received a walkover.
(Girls’ Singles):
(Boys’ Singles): Rui Ning Huang (China) beat Kai Shiang Yang (Chinese Taipei) 4-2, 1-4, 4-2. Subash Paramasivam (India) beat Hayden Khoo Menon (Malaysia) 4-1, 4-1. Udit Gogoi (India) beat Sunmin Kim (Korea) 4-2, 3-5 (3), 5-4 (3). Nauvaldo Jati Agatra (Indonesia) beat Liu Hui Retallick (Great Britain) 5-3, 4-0. Hyeoung Jin Kim (Korea) beat Manav Sreekumar (India) 5-3, 4-1. Thehan Wijemanne (Sri Lanka) beat Leroy Yong (Malaysia) 4-2, 4-1. Dhruv Hirpara (India) beat Chathurya Nilaweera (Sri Lanka) 5-4 (4), 4-2. Uddayvir Singh (India) beat Dhilvin Herath (Sri Lanka) 4-1, 4-1.
