Sri Lanka’s 23-member probable squad picked for training ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh will undergo several fitness tests on Wednesday.
According to highly placed sources close to team management, the tests will be overseen by trainer Dilshan Fonseca. All fit players are scheduled to start training from Thursday.
It is still not clear whether the fielding coach Shane McDermott, who has completed his 14-day quarantine period in Kandy and arrived in Colombo on Saturday, would be able to join the squad.
“He has been asked to be self-isolated for another 14 days. The authorities are seeking government advice whether this 14-day isolation can be waived,” the source, speaking exclusively over telephone from Colombo, said.
