Sri Lanka sevens team to feature in Olympic qualifier

Sri Lanka sevens outfit under Dhanushka Dayan will feature in two Pool games at the Asian Rugby Sevens qualifier for the 2020 Olympic Games on Saturday (23). This two day event will take place at the Namdong Asiad Rugby ground in Inchon, South Korea.

Sri Lanka will play Afghanistan (3:30 pm) and later meet the hosts South Korea (18:30 pm) before moving forward to the Cup quarter finals. There will be a play off for the 8th position in the nine team event which will eliminate the lowly placed team.

Day 2 on November 24 will see the knock out stages worked off with the winner of this event along with Japan as hosts will book their berth for Rugby Sevens at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Pool-A: Hong Kong, Taipei, Malaysia

Pool-B: China, Philippines, Singapore

Pool-C: Sri Lanka, South Korea, Afghanistan
