An impressive bowling return of 8 for 18 by left arm spinner Sineth Dissanayake who ended with a match bag of 11 wickets paved the way for St. Thomas’ College Matara to record a massive 170-run outright win over St. Mary’s College Kegalle in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at the Uyanwatte Stadium in Matara yesterday.
The second day’s play saw St. Thomas resuming their second innings on overnight score of 67 for 3 and helped by an unbeaten half ton by Hirusha Jeewadith.The thomians made a score of 134 for 4 declared.
St. Mary’s Kegalle set a target of 233 runs for victory succumbed to Sineth’s spin and were bowled out for another low score of 61 runs.
