The opening ceremony of the Asqarian Super League (ASL 2020/21) football tournament held yesterday.
The Asqarian Super League (ASL 2020/21) football tournament organized by Al-Aqsa National School Kinniya, Trincomalee and sponsored by Nestle Lanka Ltd under the Milo brand got underway yesterday.
The four-day tournament, which is scheduled to end on Sunday, will see the participation of eight teams comprising over 300 players and Sri Lanka’s popular nutritional drink Milo, who has been supporting sports activities at junior level, have come forward to support the event aimed at finding hidden talent.
The tournament, in the first stage, will be played in a league basis followed by the knock-outs.
The eight teams in contention are Aqsarian Racing Stars, Aqsarian Black Panthers, Aqsarian Blue Eagles, Aqsarian Super Kings, Aqsarian Warriors, Aqsarian Jupitors, Aqsarian Super Fighters and Aqsarian Super Boys.
