Angelo Mathews slammed an unbeaten 173 to help Colts CC amass a massive 408 for six declared on day two of their SLC Premier Tier ‘A’ Super Eight Inter-Club Cricket Tournament encounter against Saracens SC which continued at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo yesterday.

Mathews’ knock which came off 262 balls comprised 12 boundaries and two sixes and he was also involved in a massive partnership of 245 runs for the third wicket with Santhush Gunatileke who made a fine century that included three boundaries.

Meanwhile, CCC also made a mammoth 499 for six declared against Ragama CC in their match played at the CMCC Grounds in Katunayake.

Ragama CC in reply were bundled out for 132 runs and made to follow on with a deficit of 367 runs were struggling at four for two in their second innings.

Chilaw Marians CC have already obtained a first innings lead over BRC in their match continued at the CCC Grounds.

BRC resuming from their overnight score of 67 for five were bowled out for 87 runs. Chilaw Marians CC batting the second time ended day two with a formidable 359 for six with Kamindu Mendis scoring an unbeaten 136.

Meanwhile, centuries by Upul Tharanga and Lahiru Udara enabled NCC reach 323 for six in reply to Army SC’s first innings score of 269 runs at the SSC Grounds.
