Sri Lanka's top order batsman Kusal Mendis, who turned 26 on Tuesday, will tie the knot on February 12.

The news was confirmed by Mendis himself.

The right-handed batsman said, "Yes, I am marrying Nishel in Colombo next week. Friends and teammates have been invited."

Mendis has communicated his marriage date to the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board.

Mendis is in the probable squad for the forthcoming West Indies tour. He, however, if selected, won't be taking his wife on the Caribbean tour, but hopes Nishel would bring some good luck.

Mendis had four consecutive ducks in the recent Test matches against South Africa and England.

Meanwhile, not only injured players but all probables will undergo fitness tests on Thursday, it is also learnt.

The tests will be supervised by the coaching staff, High Performance staff and the Sports Medicine experts.

The players are not scheduled for the yo yo test but will be asked to undergo 2 km-trial at the Khettarama, it is learnt here.
