Sri Lanka’s 29-year-old all rounder Dasun Shanaka is all set to leave for Antigua to join the rest of Sri Lanka squad on Sunday.
He will, however, only be available to play from the second ODI (i.e. March 12) onwards.
Unfortunately, Shanaka could not travel with the team which reached Antigua via the USA. Shanaka’s original passport which had the US visa was lost and he could not get the new visa in time. He will now travel via France.
Shanaka had been named captain for the T-20I series and in his absence the selectors named Angelo Mathews to lead the side.
The visiting team has already lost the first T-20I by four wickets. Shanaka has already obtained a visa for France. He will be in quarantine for three days in Antigua before officially joining the squad.
