Isipathana U-19 Rugby Team celebrate with the Shield
Isipathana College retained the Abdul Jabbar Shield for another year when they defeated the traditional rivals Thurstan College 24-6 in their 50th Annual Under-19 Inter-Schools rugby encounter worked off at the Royal College Sports Complex in Reid Avenue yesterday. The winners collected their points from two goals and two tries after having led 17-6 at half time while Thurstan responded with two penalties.Surya Dodangoda, Lahiru Bandara, Renuja Silva and Lukman Riyaz scored a try each for Isipathana with Manilka Ruberu converting two tries.
Chamod Kalhara put over the two penalties for Thurstan.
