The Sri Lanka Weightlifting Federation has targeted over 20 Medals at the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) to be held from December 1 to 10 in Kathmandu, Nepal.
At the last edition of the SAG (2016) Sri Lanka won 15 medals including one Gold, 9 Silver and 5 Bronze.
The Weightlifting Federation has selected a strong team for the SAG including 7 men and 7 women.
The Men’s team will be led by Indika Dissanayake. He will represent the 73 kg category. The Women’s team skipper will be Chamari Warnakulasuriya who will represent the 55 kg category.
Men’s Team – Indika Dissanayake (73 kg), Isuru Kumara (55 kg), Thilanka Viraj Pallangasinghe (61 kg), Chatura Lakmal (67 kg), Chintana Geethal Vidanage (81 kg), Shanaka Peters (102 kg), Ushan Charuka (Over 109 kg)
Women’s Team – Chamari Warnakulasuriya (55 kg),Srimali Samarakoon (45 kg), Hansani Gomes (49 kg), Nadeeshani Rajapaksa (59 kg), V. Arshika (63 kg). Chaturika Priyanthi (76 kg), Thimali Haputhanne (Over 76 kg).
