Chrishan Mendis B.Sc (Hons) FCMA CGMA FCIM & Chartered Marketer, has been elected to the CIMA Global Council from June 2020, for a term of three years from the United Kingdom.
Based in Manchester, Chrishan represents the North West England & North Wales electoral constituency (EC6) of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. The Council is the governing body of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Chrishan an alumnus of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka, graduated with B.Sc.(Hons) in Physical Sciences in 1982. He was admitted an Associate Member of Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1986 and obtained Fellowship in 1989. Chrishan had his education at St. Peter’s College, Colombo and Royal College, Colombo.
He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM)UK and a Chartered Marketer.
Having commenced his corporate career in the Hayleys Group in 1983 as a Management Accountant, Chrishan held many positions in the Eco Solutions sector in the group over the years and was the Head & Managing Director of the Eco Solutions sector from 2014 to 2107. He was also a member of the Hayleys Group Management Committee from 2001 to 2017.
With a professional career spread across Sri Lanka and UK spanning over 36 years, Chrishan has wide exposure in Accounting, Finance, Manufacturing and International Marketing being based in the UK since 2010.
