There is a government establishment responsible for promoting rural agriculture. The head of this establishment, a political appointee, drawing a monthly salary of Rs. 150,000, is said to be using five official vehicles!
By the way, there are numerous complaints that hardly any contribution is being made by this establishment towards the development of agriculture.
The head of this establishment known to be a buddy of a political high-up hailing from the Matale area, is not academically and professionally qualified either for the responsible job he is holding, sources say.
