Do they have an axe to grind?

Two politicos have reportedly taken over the task of championing the cause of the actor-buddy recently consigned to the State lodge.

One of them is said to be making a big noise in the Diyawanna council on behalf of the buddy while the other has taken to the street to cry for justice for him.

However, there is no doubt that both are well aware that die is cast where any judicial remedy is concerned.

Some people had wondered why this duo alone was putting up a fight on behalf of the actor-buddy when it was obvious that there was hardly a chance for a positive result.

Meanwhile, some of them who have put two and two together say that both fighting on behalf of the buddy have their political base in the Gampaha district and their fight on behalf of the buddy boils down to a fight for a good share of the latter’s preference vote in the district!
