Demand for dissolution at the earliest possible!

A high- level meeting of Pohottuwa was held the other day with Number Two in the Chair. The upcoming general poll came up as an important subject for discussion at this meeting, they say.

Most participants had wanted to know as to when the authorities proposed to dissolve the Diyawanna council. In fact, all Diyawanna members present appeared keen to
know this.

Some of them had earlier learnt that the auspicious moment for the dissolution had been fixed for March 3.

However, there was a strong demand at this meeting that the council be dissolved at an earlier date. They pointed out that the intervening National Year Holidays restricted the time for campaigning and hence the need to dissolve the council at the earliest, possibly on March 1.

However, it is unlikely that the council would be dissolved earlier disregarding the auspicious moment already set for it, they say.
