Sri Lanka's premier jeweller, Vogue introduced the historic Tusker Collection, the island's first ever branded 22 karat gold jewellery collection at a grand event with the a spectacular pageant of musicians, Kandyan dancers, drummers and a majestic Tusker, symbolically demonstrating the majestic voyage of a golden legend.

Elaborating on the Tusker Collection, Mr. Anura Hemachandra, Managing Director, Vogue Jewellers added: "Every necklace of the Tusker Collection has been created to dazzle throughout the years and last for generations to come. Each necklace designed for the woman who seeks bold, solid adornment, perpetual style and fashion, sophistication that distinguishes from all the rest is undoubtedly a valued treasure to hand down to the loved ones.  We at Vogue Jewellers well understand the values and ethos of Sri Lankans. In addition to being adorned in classic, outstanding jewellery of high quality, we Sri Lankans consider that solid gold is a sound investment and certainly a part of the treasures that will be handed down to the next generation. Here is an outstanding collection of timeless classics that you can always rely on for its value, quality and beauty while being able to wear them as and when one desires."

"Throughout our voyage of 53 years, every collection from Vogue goes beyond the norms to create beauty and perfection that will last for generations to come. Over five decades ago Vogue Jewellers began its Golden Voyage under the leadership of my father, the founding Chairman, the late Mr. Sarath Hemachandra with a promise to be with you forever. I firmly believe that today, Vogue lives up to that golden promise, staying true to his vision by carrying forward his legacy of creativity, opulence and elegance." he further added.

The extravagant ceremony graced by a distinguished gathering truly lived up to the glory that only a giant of Vogue's stature could demonstrate. Following the tradition, a casket was heralded upon a majestic Tusker and the first necklace of the collection was offered to the Noble Triple Gem at a simple religious ceremony headed by the Most Venerable Maduluvave Sobhitha Nayake Thero.

Having paid a touching tribute to the Founding Chairman, the late Mr. Sarath Hemachandra, the current Chairperson, Mrs. Chandra Hemachandra was felicitated for her invaluable contribution towards Vogue from its very inception and the numerous social services rendered by her.  A spellbinding fashion show by the renowned fashion designer, Michael Wijesuriya was exclusively choreographed to model the grand Tusker Collection. A spectacular performance by Channa's dance troupe and a grand appearance of the Indian super model Pradhayini Harisarvothaman, a display of the collection were other features of the event.

This limited edition of nearly 50 designs of necklaces is a comprehensive range of timeless classics which are also versatile as they are suitable for both oriental attire and the western outfits. In addition, customers will receive a beautiful, limited edition Tusker Collection quarter sovereign gold coin alongside each necklace from the collection.

Tusker - truly one of the most extraordinary beings on the planet revered in cultures across the globe. Its footprint is the largest among all beings on earth. Chulla Hatti Padopama Sutta, the first sermon given by Arhat Mahinda vividly illustrates how all other footprints on earth fit into that of a Tusker.

Vogue Jewellers, a giant in its own right now brings to life, a collection inspired by a regal giant, the majestic Tusker - a collection for the bold woman, a woman of strength that can face the world with grace and elegance, having her feet placed firmly on the ground.
