An auto show including a parade of classic cars, a show from the famous armed forces including military band displays, spice and confectionary markets, and various other exhibits such as art, craft, antique, photography, museums, traditional lace making, gem and jewelry, puppet shows, books, brought the ancient Galle city to life.

Hon. Governor Southern Province Dr. Hemakumara Nanayakkara said ‘Funds raised by Galle Season 2015 will be in aid of restoration and preservation of Galle Library Fort, the oldest library in Sri Lanka established in 1832 and for renovation and development of the proposed educational and cultural complex at the old post office building in Galle Fort’.

Galle is considered as the oldest trade city of Sri Lanka where in the ancient times traders from all over the world stepped in to promote international trade and diplomatic relations due to the strategic positioning of its harbor and port.
