Cathay Pacific Airways was named Cargo Airline of the Year at the 2010 Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) Awards held in Singapore last Wednesday. The airline was commended for "responding astutely to the downturn and the recent strong upswing in cargo demand and has laid an exceptional platform to benefit from China's economic and trade boom".
In addition to its strategic foresight, Cathay Pacific was also praised for applying capacity intelligently throughout the downturn to lead the recent recovery in air cargo and is poised to play a vital role in the region's development in this area. In another acknowledgement of Cargo's service excellence, the team received an award from sanofi pasteur, the vaccines division of the sanofi-aventis Group on Friday.
