Sadly, Democracy in this country now is interpreted as Government of some crooked politicians, elected by brain-washed people, for the benefit of the very same crooked politicians, their families and hangers-on. Even a public demonstration is now allowed to be held freely only if it is organized by a government politician who arranges his supporters to hold placards in return for a dram of liquor, a lunch packet and maybe a few rupees.

Its true. What we really see as public protests are not at all public. They are handful of people who have sold themselves and the human dignity that they had to small favours by politicians etc. The most worrying aspect is the gullibility and the idiocy of people who had taken part in the protest against the Chief Justice, Shirani Bandaranayake. The pathetic and disgusting portrayal of political leadership by Minister Merwyn Silva is something that we need to seriously think about. How does he manage to win elections? Isn't it our precious vote that appoints such political goons who absolutely has no sense of politics, administration and public well-being?
