The Colombo High Court Trial-at-Bar yesterday issued an open warrant on Imaduwage Indika Sampath, the third suspect in the Welikada prison riots case and allowed evidence to be heard in absentia under Section 241 of the Criminal Procedure Code. Others accused in this case are Moses Nevamal Rangajeewa and Lamahewage Emil Ranjan. The Trial-at-Bar comprising Judges Gihan Kulathunga, Pradeep Hettiarachchi and Manjula Thilakarathna fixed August 30 to commence the evidence of the prosecution.
